Urea is water-soluble. When urea is coated with a thin polymer coating, it protects the urea from releasing all at once. By increasing the coating thickness, we can control the different release rates (the thicker the coating, the longer it feeds).
As temperatures and demand for nutrients increase, more nitrogen is released. PCU is not affected by rainfall or irrigation so there are no growth surges or nitrogen runoff due to excessive moisture.
