You will be teaching students who are ambitious, high-achieving, and aiming for admission to top universities globally .
Key Responsibilities
Teaching & Learning: Plan, prepare, and deliver engaging and challenging A-Level Psychology lessons in line with Cambridge or Edexcel examination specifications . This includes core modules such as Cognitive, Social, Biological, and Developmental Psychology, as well as Research Methods.
Assessment: Design and mark formative and summative assessments, including mock examinations, providing timely, constructive, and detailed feedback to support student progress .
Curriculum Development: Contribute to the development and refinement of the psychology curriculum, schemes of work, and teaching materials to ensure they meet the needs of diverse learners, including EAL (English as an Additional Language) students .
Student Support: Track student progress meticulously, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding academic performance and well-being. Provide targeted support and intervention for students as needed .
Practical Research: Guide students through the process of psychological research, including experimental design, data collection/analysis, and report writing, adhering to ethical guidelines .
Extra-Curricular Engagement: Supervise and support psychology-related extracurricular activities, such as a Psychology Club, EPQ (Extended Project Qualification) projects, or academic competitions, to enrich the student experience .
Professional Collaboration: Actively participate in departmental meetings, collaborative planning sessions, and professional development opportunities. Work closely with colleagues to share best practices and maintain a high standard of teaching across the department .
Qualifications & Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Psychology or a closely related field (Master’s or PhD preferred) .
Teaching Qualification: A recognized teaching certification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, Teaching License) oreferred.
Experience: A minimum of 2-3 years of proven, full-time experience teaching A-Level Psychology in an international school or sixth-form college setting .
Skills: Excellent classroom management skills, a student-centered approach, and the ability to differentiate instruction for a range of abilities. Familiarity with lab-based practical work and research project supervision is required .
